Hi,

I have started to do a family history; far too late !! as most of my parents family are now deceased.

my maternal grandfather : Frank Greenwood was supposed to have been a master mariner who sailed grain, wool and sheep from Australia..

He retired and was again supposed to have been harbour master at Barry Docks until his death in 1925 at age 48.

I have just read the article regarding Cecil Foster on the main BBC website, saw all the possible links and wondered if you have any information on my grandfather?

Any of the ships he sailed would also be wonderful to know.

Kind regards

Larry.

AS SAID WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP. K.

Replied with:

May have found a record of the death: 1925 age 48, registered Cardiff, it would seem from the birth records he was possibly born elsewhere. Any ideas to date / place of birth. Also the date / place of a wedding ?

Are you in possession of any nautical artifacts ? such as his discharge book etc.

Any snippet of information may help.

Relations: parents, children etc.

Have a few ideas and am working on what I can as time permits.

Would appreciate any info you may hold and will update as and when, no promises but will do my best.

Any info you can assist with will help, no matter how small.

Any reference numbers etc would be hugely helpful.
